Bobcat Goldthwait Net Worth $1.2 Million

Bobcat Goldthwait was brought up in a Catholic working-class family by Thomas Lincoln Goldthwait, who was a sheet metal worker, and Kathleen Ann, who worked as a department store employee. He went to St. Matthew’s Grammar School, where he began performing as a stand-up comedian and there he met Ted Kenny. Later, both of them matriculated from Bishop Grimes Junior/Senior High School in East Syracuse, after which they formed a comedy troupe named the Generic Comics, and with that his career began.

Bobcat began to perform as a solo act, and in 1987 he produced his first documentary, entitled “An Evening with Bobcat Goldthwait – Share the Warmth”, which launched him further into the entertainment industry, and before that he released the comedy album “Meat Bob”. To speak further of his career as a stand-up comedian, Bobcat released two more albums “I Don’t Mean to Insult You, but You Look Like Bobcat Goldthwait” in 2003, and most recently “You Don’t Look the Same Either” (2012), which also added to his net worth.
However, what most celebrates Bobcat is his acting career. He made his debut appearance in 1984 in the role of Ernie Rust in the film “Massive Retaliation”, and since then has featured in more than 90 film and TV roles, which have increased his net worth by a large margin.

Throughout the 1980s, he appeared in such as “Apt. 2C” (1985), and that year he was selected for the role of Zed in the “Police Academy 2”,w hich launched his career as an actor, and he continued on to appear in the sequels “Police Academy 3: Back in Training” (1986), and “Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol” (1987), and also appeared in films “Burglar” (1987), and “Hot to Trot” (1988), among others, all of which added a lot to his net worth.
In the beginning of the 1990s came his directorial debut, the film “Shakes The Clown” (1991), starring himself with Julie Brown. Bobcat continued successfully throughout the 1990s, appearing in films and TV series such as “Radioland Murders” (1994), “Sweethearts” (1997), “Sin City Spectacular” (1998), and “Dog’s Best Friend” (1997). He then became more focused on voice acting, lending his voice to characters from such animated series as “Hercules” (1997), “Unhappily Ever After” (1995-1998), “Stories from My Childhood” (1998), increasing further his overall wealth.

He continued in the same rhythm through the 2000s, having a number of voice roles, including as XL in the TV series “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command” (2000), as Pain in “House of Mouse” (2001-2002), and Nosy in “Lilo & Stitch: The Series” (2003-2006). To speak further about his accomplishment as an actor, Bobcat appeared in such productions as “Grind” (2003), “I Confess” (2010), and he will appear in the film “Henchmen” which is scheduled for release in 2016.

Bobcat has also been recognized as a director, putting his name on films and TV series such as “God Bless America” (2011), “Willow Creek” (2013), and “Maron” (2013-2016), among others, all of which have increased his net worth as well. Overall, Bobcat has been involved in over 120 film and TV titles spanning over 30 years.

1I lost my job. I didn't actually lose my job. My job is still there, but somebody else is doing it.... I lost my girlfriend. I didn't actually lose my girlfriend. My girlfriend is still there, but somebody else is doing it.
2I didn't see "Phantom Menace" or the "Attack of the Clones" because I'm forty years old and I've been laid.
3I retired from acting the same time they stopped hiring me. But following my own thing of making these small indie movies has been the happiest I've ever been.
4Fame is like a big eraser. It's strange, now that I'm famous. In my parents' opinion, all the shitty things - all the wreckage of my past - is erased. Now it's like I was never the kid who got arrested. Now I'm a wonderful son.
5(about fatherhood, 1992) Yeah, my kids have already started a support group.
6You can't blame the President for everything that's wrong with this country. That's like blaming Ronald McDonald if you get a bad cheeseburger.
7That movie looks so bad, I can't believe I wasn't in it.
8[from "Bob Goldthwait - Is He Like That All The Time?" on HBO]: America is one of the finest countries anyone ever stole.
9If you ever see me getting beaten by the police, put down the video camera and come help me! Don't chase me around! Don't be going 'whhhoooo I'm gonna sell this to Spike Lee, or Bob Saget.'

1Pleaded no contest to charges stemming from setting his chair on fire on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Goldthwait was fined $3,880 and ordered to do public-service announcements to promote a local burn center. Along with the fine and PSA's, he was given three years informal probation.
2Since Bobcat Goldthwait released his new film "Sleeping Dogs Lie" (a.k.a. Sleeping Dogs Lie (2006)), he is now a TV/film director. It's not his first time directing for television, though. In his October 2006 interview in Suicide Girls, he announced that he's not going back to stand-up comedy and has no interest of doing so. He also admitted that directing is his favorite thing to do. [December 2006]
3Currently directing ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2003), where ratings have sky-rocketed since he joined the show, to touring the country with his unique comedy style. [April 2005]
4Current feature film in production starting July 2008: World's Greatest Dad (2009). [June 2008]
5has a new comedy album on CD coming out on September 23, 2003 by Comedy Central Records. The name of the album is: "I Don't Want To Insult You, But You Look Like Bobcat Goldthwait" (a.k.a. - The Uninspired Ramblings of a 40 Old Has-Been). [September 2003]
6Finishing up his stand up tour during the writer's strike. [February 2008]
7On the Family Guy (1999) episode, Family Guy: The Perfect Castaway (2005), "Peter Griffin" recalls being on a game show, Bobcat or Bjork, where he heard a sound and had to guess if it was by Bobcat, or Icelandic vocalist Björk. He guessed it was Bobcat, but the host tells Peter it was Bjork.
8He played "The Sandman" in an episode of the children's television show, Are You Afraid of the Dark? (1990) titled Are You Afraid of the Dark?: The Tale of the Final Wish (1993).
9Recently between June 9 - 17, 2006, Goldthwait attended the 2006 CineVegas Film Festival. He's also the panelist for the CineVegas "Outlaw Cinema Panel", which started on June 11th. Reviews after this day complemented him as the most talkative and the most interesting panelist.
10Goldthwait's film Sleeping Dogs Lie (2006) was recently bought by Roadside Attractions & Samuel Goldwyn Films at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival for the North American rights to the film. Gaumont also bought it for the international rights to the film.
11Since 2000, he's directed other segments for shows on Comedy Central including Chappelle's Show (2003), The Man Show (1999) and Strip Mall (2000).
12He attended Bishop Grimes High School in East Syracuse, graduating with voice actor Tom Kenny, who is best known for his work on SpongeBob SquarePants (1999). Goldthwait & Kenny were in the class of 1980.
13Was a close personal friend of Kurt Cobain.
14He's a longtime childhood friend of "Spongebob Squarepants" voice talent Tom Kenny.
15Father of Tasha Goldthwait.
16Biography in: "Who's Who in Comedy" by Ronald L. Smith, pg. 186-187. New York: Facts on File, 1992. ISBN 0816023387.
17Was the subject (sort of) of the independent film Calling Bobcat (2000). In a key part of the film, the two main characters theorize about the sobering effect that drinking olive oil before drinking alcohol can have on the human body. This is a reference to lines spoken by Bobcat Golthwait's character in the film Burglar (1987). After the stunt fails, the two characters spend much of the movie trying to track down the comedian.
18During his May 9, 1994 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992), he poured lighter fluid on his chair and set it on fire.
