Brock Alan Osweiler was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on November 22, 1990 and raised by his parents, Kathy and John Osweiler, in Kalispell, Montana. His older brother, Tanner, also played college football with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) at Montana Tech in Butte. It is also known that their father, John, received scholarship offers to play football. The man, however, chose to join the army as soon as he finished high school.

Brock had interests in basketball and football. He thrived in both areas and even played for Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball teams at one point. In 2006, he signed on to become a basketball player for Gonzaga University in Spokane, but as fate would have it, he ended up playing college football.
